Welcome To The MICHIANA AMATEUR RADIO CLUB Home Page!
The MICHIANA AMATEUR RADIO CLUB ("MARC"), located in the local Red
Cross facility at 3220 E. Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, IN 46615,
serves the amateur radio community in St. Joseph County, Indiana. With
the help of its members, MARC maintains a complete amateur
radio station and the W9AB ("Whiskey-Nine-Atomic-Bomb" is the phonetic
sequence sometimes used to attract an immediate response!), open 2 meter
repeater on 147.225 (+). The W9AB call originally was issued to
the late Harry Miller who was an early member and active supporter of MARC.
This ARRL special services club provides members and others interested
in the amateur hobby with monthly educational programs as well as public
service opportunities through regular participation in the ARRL annual
Field Day exercise and local emergency preparedness activities. Monthly
social meetings usually are held at 7:30 pm. on the last Friday of each
month in the Red Cross facility. Information on specific events or
matters of interest to the local amateur community is available through
the club's message center at: (219) 239-4982. E-Mail contact with the club
is available via w9ab@hotmail.com
